LaVERNE EDWARD LEWIS
February 2, 1930 – April 8, 2014
WENDELL – LaVerne Edward Lewis, 84, went home to be with the Lord late Tuesday evening. LaVerne was a U. S. Navy Veteran. He worked for I.B.M for 40 years and Perry’s Hardware. His faith and family were most important to him. LaVerne was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he helped and served the church wherever he was needed. He loved a good practical joke and was a fix it man. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Prosch Lewis.
Graveside service, 2 pm, Friday, Greenmount Cemetery.
He is survived his children, Craig Lewis (fiancé Barbara) of Garner, Cheri Braziel (Jim) of Peoria, AZ, Cyndi Robinson (Alan) of Raleigh, sister, Mary Dorr (John) of Norwich, NY, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Knightdale, or Hospice of Wake County.
