My heart goes out to the family during this time. This was a tragic loss. I loved Laurie – she was my friend. She was special not only for how she cared for others, how she worked so hard to care for my sister, but also for how she treasured the people close to her. I loved her sense of humor and no-nonsense, pratical outlook on life – she was always there if I needed someone to talk to, and she could make me laugh. She was genuine. For the near 6 months she was a part of our lives, she became part of the family. She will be missed. My thoughts are with her family, especially her 2 daughters, whom she cherished.
