Katie Katherine Boykin, 96, died Friday. She was born in Johnston County to the late Jesse Everette and Mable Honeycutt Hinnant. Mrs. Boykin was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to assisting others as a nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Elton Boykin, children, Willis “Benny” Boykin, Phyllis Smith and Madeline Boykin.

She is survived by her children, Danny Boykin (Holly) of Zebulon, Jesse Junior Boykin (Stella) of Wendell, Myrtie Boykin Brewer of Wendell, Deborah Driver (Danny) of Zebulon, sister, Evelyn Richardson (Wallace) of Raleigh, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, & great, great, grandchildren.

Flowers welcomed, or memorials may be made to Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund.
