Kathy Smith Kelley, 65, of Middlesex, NC, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones May 28, 2025. She was born September 19, 1959, in Wake County, to Lonnie Smith and Katrina Alford Smith.

Kathy was devoted to her family and spent her life caring for and being with them. She had a love for butterflies and carousels, small joys that brought her peace.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Krystal Coumbes (Shane); sons, Michael Smith (Anastasia) and Brandon Kelley (Elizabeth); brother, Donnie Smith (Anita); grandchildren, Fallon Smith, Kora Smith, Zaiden Coumbes, Connor Coumbes, McKenzie Creech, and Preston Creech; her mother, Katrina Alford Smith; and her niece and nephew, Amanda Dale and Joshua Robbins. She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Smith, and her sister, Kitty Sue Robbins.

A visitation will be from 6:00-7:30 pm, Friday, May 30, 2025, at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 pm, in the Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel.
