MIDDLESEX – Kathleen Lee Lewis, 95, of 12661 Hanes Ave., passed away Friday morning at her home after a period of declining health. She was born in Nash County, daughter of the late William and Ethel Tippett Lee. Mrs. Lewis was retired from the NC State Department of Social Security and Disability Determination. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 73 years, Wilber Lewis, daughter, Kathy L. Lewis, grandson, Jimmy Stone, Jr., son-in-law, Walter Godwin, brothers, Marvin Lee, William H. (Bill) Lee; sisters Ruby Davis, Rebecca Baker, and Rachel Milan.
Funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church, 14551 Taylor’s Mill Rd., Middlesex. Entombment will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery, Hwy 231 Middlesex.
She is survived by her loving daughter’s Rose L. Godwin of Wilson, Linda L. Stone (Jimmy) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Derek Bissette (Donna) of Middlesex, Melinda Stone Brown (Greg) of Decatur, AL; great-grandchildren, Kristen B. Webb (Jimmy) of Zebulon, Matthew Bissette (fiancé Lisa) of Middlesex, Nicholas, Madison and Raegan Brown of Decatur, AL; sisters, Agnes Hawkins, Frances Hough and Evelyn Finch (James); sisters-in-law, Rochelle Lee and Eloise Hibbs; loving and special care giver, Lela Bryant, many nieces and nephews.
