DURHAM – Judy Ann Mullen Harris, 81, died on Sunday.  She was born in Nash County to the late Burgess & Gladys Mullen.  Judy was a property manager for Public Storage. Her family was most important in her life. She loved spending time with every single one of them, especially during the Christmas Holidays at Aunt Maxine’s. Judy also enjoyed crossword puzzles, loved the beach and tanning, and always looked forward to getting her nails and hair done. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and loved listening to Pitbull! Judy enjoyed her Saturday evening dinners with her longtime friends, Tommy & Myra Harris & their daughter, Jennifer. She looked forward to going out to eat with family at any opportunity. Her time spent with family was her most valued treasure. Judy absolutely adored her first grandson Chris! She especially enjoyed watching him play high school football and was truly his biggest fan. If you loved Chris or were connected to him in any way, Judy loved you. She ensured there were pictures of Chris or something that belonged to him in every inch of her home because he was her pride and joy. Judy also made sure to spend a lot of quality time with Brazlyn, her first great grand-daughter. They shared mutual interest in reading and favorite television shows, Divorce Court, being a favorite. They spent much time just talking and growing together, something Brazlyn will now cherish. Judy also enjoyed being the one to pick up Carter, her first great grandson, from preschool. She couldn’t wait for him to ask her to please stop at Subway so that he could get his milk.  Lastly, She also enjoyed her friendship with her co-workers, Kim Kirby, & Beverly Grimes.  She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Whitley, and her brother, Simon Mullen.

She is survived by her sons, Todd Whitley (fiancé, Lisa) of Bailey, George Whitley, grandchildren, Chris Whitley (Sekrit), Cassie Pennington (fiancé (Eric Tucker), Calley Pennington (fiancé Chase Hedgepeth), Landon Bethel (fiancé Makenzie Mangum), great grandchildren, Brazlyn Whitley, Carter Whitley & Jaxtyn Bethel.
