Judith “Judy” Dianne Wall Scarboro, 79, of Wendell, passed away Monday, January 16th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

Judy was born June 3rd, 1943, in Newport News, Virginia, to Lucille Amy Green and ST Wilson Wall.  Judy grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated from East Mecklenburg High School.  She later attended Wake Technical College, received her Associate Degree in Accounting.  Judy retired with the North Carolina Department of Revenue after 21 years.

Judy was deeply devoted to her faith in Jesus Christ.  She attended Hephzibah Baptist Church every Sunday and also attended Bible studies, choir practice and volunteered for many functions.  She joyfully sang in Hephzibah’s choir for over 30 years.  She was an amazing mother, grandmother and later in life, great grandmother.  She was an incredibly strong woman who persevered through all that God planned for her.  She was resourceful, giving, and steadfast.  Above it all, she remained graceful, humble, gentle-hearted, and always followed His light.  Judy loved to laugh, sing, dance, swim, and sunbathe.  She delighted in the company of her family.  She was a true angel on earth and was a great blessing to all that knew her.

Judy is survived by her children, James Dean Scarboro III, Robbie Dean Scarboro, Rhonda Dee Horton, and Michael Lynn Scarboro (Wendy Parrish), as well as grandchildren, Ashton Dean Scarboro (Kayla), Nichole Scarboro Davis (Brian), Samantha Josephine Morris (Sloan), Alec Brandon Scarboro, Joshua Allen Morris (Amanda), Robert Blake Scarboro, Taylor Ryan Jenkins and great grandchildren, Wyatt, Cole, Caroline, Cassidy, Emerson, Todd, Veira, Serenity, Bailey, and Emery, Brothers Michael Turnham, Brad Turnham, and sister Dale Wall Miller.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janice Dorotha Wall, daughter Kelly Arden Scarboro, and her granddaughter Samantha Morris’ fiancé, Sloan Schmitt.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 20th, 2023 in the chapel of Hephzibah Baptist Church, 1794 Wendell Blvd, Wendell, NC 27591.  For anyone who would like to pay respect prior to service, please see family from 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. in the Chapel of Hephzibah Baptist Church.  A graveside service will follow at White Oak Baptist Church, 13943 Buffalo Road, Archer Lodge, NC 27527.
