Joseph “Joe” Pettigrew Price, Sr.
July 3, 1921 – December 22, 2018

RALEIGH – Joseph “Joe” Pettigrew Price, Sr., 97, went home to be with the Lord after living an extraordinary life. He was born in Johnston County to the late Lether Marvin & Eva Hales Price. He served his country honorably during WWII serving in the Asiatic-Pacific & Philippine Liberation. Joe worked over 37 years with the NCDMV where he retired as Assistant Director of the Drivers License Section. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Marie Hunter Price, siblings, Elton, Dallas, Neal, Grady, & Cecil Price, Lizzie Hough, Mavis Davis, & Pearl Spencer.

He is survived by his son, Joseph “Joey” Price, Jr. of Rocky Point, brothers, Wilton Price of Zebulon, Percy Price (Jeanette) of Wendell, half sister, Maude Ann Creech (husband, Phil), half brother, Steve Price (wife, Janet) many special nieces & nephews.

Flowers welcomed, or memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford or New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund.

Funeral service 2 pm, Thursday, New Hope Baptist Church with visitation from 12:30 – 2 pm, prior to the service.
