September 2, 1972 – July 6, 2023

Wendell – Johnny “Jay” Edward Brannan, Jr., 50, went to his eternal rest and glory on Thursday. He was born in Winter Park, FL. Jay worked for the North Carolina Highway Patrol. His love of family was extraordinary, especially for Caroline Rose and being her Papa Jay. He was a huge Nascar fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Edward Brannan, Sr.

He is survived by his daughter, Hannah Norwood (Charlie), his mom, Luna Johnson Parrish, the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, Caroline Rose, his girlfriend, Pat Hare, the mother of his daughter, Dena Brannan, and his former mother-in-law, Peggy Russell.

Flowers welcomed, or memorials may be made to Baptist Tabernacle Church Cemetery Fund.

Funeral service 3 pm, Sunday in the Baptist Tabernacle Church Sanctuary. The visitation will be from 1:30 – 3 pm, prior to the service, held in the Family Ministry Center. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
