“Big John” Carl Trempus, 91, died Friday.  He was born in Aleghaney County, PA to the late Nicklaus & Maria Moravec Trempus.  He graduated from College of William & Mary where he played defensive end.  Mr. Trempus worked for Hercules as a chemical engineer.  John was an avid gardener who had not just a green thumb but a green arm.  He loved Golf, sports, being outdoors and telling truly good jokes.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years; Billie Trempus, and several siblings.

He is survived by his daughters; Patricia Ann Trempus of Wendell, Carol Trempus & husband Jack Crompton of Zebulon, brother; Alfred Trempus of Cheswick, beloved family member; Elizabeth Willems & husband Robert, granddaughter; Carmen Zepp, and great grandchildren; William Drake, Elizabeth Drake, & Benjamin Zepp.

A mass of resurrection will be offered 11 am, Monday, St. Eugene Catholic Church with visitation from 9-10:45 am prior to the service.  Burial will follow at a later date in Allegheny Highland Memorial Cemetery, Covington, VA.

Flower welcomed or memorials may be made to Cancer Centers of North Carolina.

The family will be at the home 2-4 pm, Sunday
