Joan Ruth Wall Hunter
January 3, 1938 – April 9, 2026

Joan Ruth Hunter, 88, peacefully transitioned from this life in the home surrounded by her loving family at her side. She was born in Wake County to the late William Marvin & Ruth Purser Wall. Professionally, Joan worked as a Title Examiner for the NC Department of Motor Vehicles. She also took pride in her training and work as a nurse’s aide at Dorothea Dix Hospital.

Joan was looked upon as a pillar of strength for her family, even amidst her own challenges. She was a true inspiration to others and very selfless, always willing to give to others and never expecting anything in return. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and finding a great book to read when she wasn’t playing with her great grandbabies that she loved so dearly. Joan truly took pleasure in caring for and raising her wonderful family and her legacy of love, strength, and of incredible faith will be embraced and cherished by all. Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Julian Hunter and their grandchild, Timothy Ray Hunter II.
