Joan Marie Sansone Murphy
December 15, 1942 – July 31, 2023
CLAYTON – Joan Marie Sansone Murphy, 80, departed this life and returned home to the Lord on July 31, 2023. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Lawrence and Santie Paciello Sansone. She worked as a homemaker, devoting her time to her family and raising all six of her children. Described to be a matriarch, always with something to say and filled with love to share. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Debra “Debbie” Ann Couch.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years and the love of her life, Andrew Joseph Murphy, her sons, John, Richard (Lorraine), Joseph (Caroline), Robert, and Michael, and her grandchildren, Kelly Ann Couch, Ryan Murphy, and Kevin Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of America.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, 3:30pm at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Wendell NC.
