Jerry Kenneth Hodges, 80, a faithful servant of the Lord went to his Heavenly home on Saturday. He was born in Richmond County, NC to the late George Stubbs & Mary Gainey Hodges. “Jerry was a great father, mentor and to say he had a big heart is an understatement”. He was a talented woodworker as well. He was a retired Captain with the Raleigh Fire Department.

He is survived by his children, Craig Carson Hodges (Shannon), Kenneth George Hodges (Wendy), Teresa Hodges Bryant (Jeff), Derek Mercer (Dawn), David Box, sister, Faye Gaylord (James), grandchildren, Chris Hodges (Mackenzie Hodges), Karie Lyman (Harrison), Haley Barbee (Tyler), Allison Patterson (Shawn), Emily Hodges (Fiancé Paul Carson), Tyler Hodges, Brennan Hodges, Stephen Bryant (Caroline), Austin Bryant, Ella Bryant, Evan Mercer, Zach Mercer, great grandchildren, Rylee Barbee, Emerson Barbee, Ansley Barbee, Carson Hodges, Christian Hodges, & Sebastian Patterson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Pearce Baptist Church.

Funeral 11 am, Wednesday, Pearce Baptist Church with visitation from 10 am to 11 am, prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
