Jerry Garfield Pace, Sr.

November 10, 1938 – April 3, 2015

CLAYTON – Jerry Garfield Pace, Sr., 76, died Friday at his home surrounded by his family.  A native of Johnston County he was son to the late Tom & Geneva Byrd Pace.  He was the owner of Pace Farms, Banner Warehouse, and Pace Mobile Acres.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Jean Pace.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Carolyn Jeannette Canady Pace, sons, Jerry Pace, Jr. (Deborah), Joel Pace, both of Archer Lodge, daughters, Jeanne Winegar (James) of Wendell, Joan Kanzler (Tim) of Winston Salem, grandchildren, Michelle Pace Davis (Michael), Cara Ruth Pace, Sam and Adam Winegar, Emma, Ava, and Sophie Kanzler, Jordan and Josie Pace, special cousin Tommy Pace (Jane).

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Archer Lodge Fire Department.

A private graveside service will be held at the family cemetery.
