Janet Marie Griswold Whitley

March 14, 1947 – March 31, 2015

WINSTON-SALEM – Janet “Mema” Griswold Whitley, 68, formerly of Zebulon, died Tuesday.  A native of Wake County she was daughter to the late Willie & Katie Bunn Griswold.  Janet graduated from Wakelon High School in 1965 and worked for Dr. Richard Kane.  Janet enjoyed golf, Duke Basketball, and her pets.  Her time with her family and her grandchildren was her life, especially watching them play baseball.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Tommy Whitley, and brother, W. G. Griswold.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Fisch (Pete) of Winston Salem, grandsons, Andrew Hamilton Fisch, Garrett Whitley Fisch, &sister, Faye Wade (Mark) of Wendell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forsyth County Humane Society or a charity of choice.

Funeral service 11 am, Saturday, Zebulon Baptist Church with visitation from9:30 am to 10:45 am in the parlor prior to the service.  Burial, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
