James Ray Carroll, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. He was born in Johnston County to the late James and Laura Lynch Carroll. He was a Truck Driver, firewood salesman and farmer. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffany Strickland, siblings, Charles Carroll, Shirley Chamblee and Peggy Morgan.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joyce Cooke Carroll of the home; sons, Tim Carroll (Kathy) of Wendell and Paul Carroll (Katharyn) of Zebulon; daughters, Roxie Spring (Pete) of Conway, S.C. and Sherri Creighton of Raleigh; grandchildren, Briana Hobbs (Wesley), Blake Carroll, Taylor Carroll and Jessica Belez (Luis); great grandchildren, Bryson and Dylan Belez and the mother of his sons and close family friend, Eloise Carroll.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Transitions Lifecare.
The family would like give a special thank you to James’ unwavering caregivers, Lavern Pegram and Melissa Gill. Their dedication and diligence to James’ needs have been second to none.
