I will miss you Jim. Thanks for being a friend and colleague for many years.
Jim was not just a friend, but a caring and sensitive individual who touched the lives of many, including mine.
I first met Jim in the 1990s, and our friendship blossomed over the years as we became close business associates. We stayed in touch even after my career in the kitchen cabinet and furniture woodworking industry ended in 2011. Jim was there for me during a difficult period in 1999, providing support and kindness when I needed it most.
He was a loving husband to his wife, Fleeta, whom he cared for tirelessly following her stroke in 2022. Jim was also a proud father to his sons, and we often shared stories about our families. Our bond extended to our shared love for dogs and zest for life.
Jim’s thoughtful gesture of creating an intarsia piece inspired by my love for the Wizard of Oz now hangs proudly in my Tiny Home. His craftsmanship and attention to detail are a testament to the care he put into our friendship. The words he inscribed on the back of the piece are a treasure I will hold dear forever.
I had hoped to visit Jim in the Raleigh area next year to reminisce and catch up, but now I will hold onto the memories we shared. I take solace in knowing that Jim has been reunited with Fleeta, whom he missed dearly during the past 7 months.
Rest in peace, Jim. Your kindness and friendship will never be forgotten.
