James “Jimmy” Calvin Cutchins, Jr.
May 5, 1953 – October 19, 2025
James “Jimmy” Calvin Cutchins, Jr., 72, of Zebulon, NC, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 19, 2025. He was born May 5, 1953, in Franklin, VA, to the late James C. Cutchins, Sr. and Margie Baugham Cutchins.
Jimmy was a hardworking and dedicated family man who spent 50 years as a Plumbing Contractor in his family business, Cutchins Plumbing Inc. Known for his dependability, attention to detail, and strong work ethic, Jimmy took great pride in his craft and in serving others through his work.
Jimmy spent many years as an active member of his community, serving with the Zebulon Jaycees and coaching youth sports. An avid hunter, he also enjoyed volunteering his time to support Combat Warriors.
Despite his many responsibilities, Jimmy always made time for those he loved most. Though he never sought the spotlight, he deserves to be celebrated for a lifetime of love, devotion, and integrity. He was a man of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Jimmy’s greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren. Whether it was a dance recital, volleyball, football, baseball, softball, or soccer game, you could count on him sitting in the front row, cheering them on with pride. He loved to share stories about them with anyone who would listen—his pride in them was boundless.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Elaine Cutchins; sons, James “Jason” C. Cutchins III (Matrice) and Luke Cutchins (April); sisters, Kay Starling (Jack), Debbie Pender, and Belinda Creech (Lee); and his beloved grandchildren, Kaleigh Blair, Cole Luke and Kenley James. He is preceded in death by his brother, James Carroll.
A private celebration of life will be held for family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following in loving memory of Jimmy:
