James “Jim” Frank DeRosa
January 18, 1946 – August 9, 2022
ZEBULON – James “Jim” Frank DeRosa, 76, transitioned from this life Tuesday, August 9, 2022. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, PA on January 18, 1946. Jim faithfully and honorably served our country as Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He achieved his bachelor’s degree and worked for IBM as an Executive Manager. Jim also worked 14 years for AutoZone. Jim was involved with Boy Scouts of America in both N.J. and Zebulon, NC for more than 25 years. In his spare time, he loved to “hit the links” for a round of golf. Jim cherished his family and will be deeply missed by those he loved and those who loved him. He is predeceased by his parents, Michael Nuzzo and Eleanor Ruth Conn Nuzzo.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Cains DeRosa; children, James DeRosa II (Amy), Anthony DeRosa (Chanelle), Justin DeRosa (Melinda), Amy Douglas (Frank), Christopher MacDonald (Raina), Sherry Moudy (Bart), John Luersen (Jamie) and Robert DeRosa; 29 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his sister, Debbie Duckworth (Bill) and many nieces and nephews.
Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions may be made to further Parkinson’s Research.
Funeral Service will be held at 7:30pm Monday, August 15, 2022 at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Visitation prior to the service from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.
Arrangements are entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591.
