Iris Elaine Chapman Bolen

January 14, 1940 – October 16, 2019

CLAYTON – Iris Chapman Bolen, 79, passed away on Wednesday.  She was born in Braxton County West Virginia.  Iris was an entrepreneur with her husband owning several successful businesses.  Her family was her life and most important to her after God.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hedrick Bolen & son, Scotty Bolen.

She is survived by her children, Brett Bolen (Melissa) of Clayton, Stacey Dean (Valentine) of Zebulon, Beth Brobst (Eric) of New Bern, siblings, Rodney Chapman (Sharon) of Morgantown, WV, Shelia Miller of Hixon, TN, & Yvonne LeFevre (Meade) of California, & seven grandchildren.

Visitation, Sunday, 3:00 – 4:30 pm, Zebulon United Methodist Church.

    Dear Brett and Melissa, I am so saddened to hear this news. She was always such a nice person to me, warm and inviting, and a zest for life and family. I know you will miss her dearly. I know she was a wonderful grandmother to the kids. Godspeed your grief.

    Ms Iris was the most beautiful soul. Always made you feel safe and welcome in her presence, kind of like I think it’s going to be when we close to Jesus.
