Hilda Faye Tant Johnson

Middlesex – Hilda Faye Tant Johnson, age 84, transitioned from this life on Saturday, January 25, 2025. A native of Nash Co., Hilda was born December 16, 1940, to the late John Clarence Tant and Martha Anna Bryant Tant. Hilda was a seamstress with several companies most recent being Devil Dog Dungarees. In her spare time she loved making memories at the coast, specifically Morehead City. She loved to go shopping and loved to dance. In addition to her parents, Hilda is preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Johnson; son, Robert Wayne Johnson; siblings, Raybon Tant, Alice Gray Fulford, Willistine Cone, and Hannah Jean Wright; and granddaughter, Iris Nicole.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St. Wendell, NC 27591. Burial to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Ave, Zebulon, NC 27597.
She is survived by her special friend of 18 years, Julian Brantley; sister, Peggy Joyce Wiggs (Everette); nephews, Britt Wright (Sharon), Dale Cone (Connie), and Kevin Wiggs (Ruby); as well as other nieces and nephews, and her cat, Butterball.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591.
