Gary Bagley O’Neal
November 8, 1958 – January 23, 2024

Zebulon – Gary Bagley O’Neal, 65, passed on from this life comforted by his daughter Jennifer, in his home leaving his loved ones behind with heavy hearts. He was born in Wake County to Worth Bagley O’Neal (now deceased) & Mildred Lee Horton O’Neal. Gary had previously worked as a machine operator for NC Chipmill in Sims, NC but he enjoyed going to drag races, fishing, and cooking. When time allowed, he also loved working on his old tractor, and being in his tool shop, but most of all spending time with his wife, daughter and grandchildren. Gary had a huge heart, donating to charities and truly enjoyed the company of his loved ones. They will always remember him for his wonderful sense of humor, old sayings, old stories and speaking to his loved ones about the word of God. His time here was too short, and he will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched. He was preceded in death by his father, Worth Bagley O’Neal, his son, Jason Garrett O’Neal and sister-in-law, Susan Bunn Boykin.

He was survived by his loving wife, Teresa Bunn O’Neal; daughter, Jennifer O’Neal; grandchildren, Cameron, Hannah, Natalie and Lily; brothers, Richard O’Neal (Donna) and Wayne O’Neal (Karen); sister, Donna O’Neal Newsome (Greg); brother-in-law, Michael Bunn (Valerie), brother-in-law, Robert Bunn (Diane), brother-in-law, Anthony Boykin (Susan), and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate or Wounded Warrior Project. www.woundedwarriorproject.org

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. www.stricklandfuneral.com
