November 3, 1942 – September 17, 2019

LAKE ROYALE – Garland Ray Johnson, 76, died Tuesday.  He was born in Nash County to the late Willie & Ora Glover Johnson, Sr.  He worked with the N. C. D.O.T. in a variety of careers & in Photogrammetry Lab from which he later retired after 33 years of service.  He had a good sense of humor & loved to Rabbit hunt.

Graveside service 11 am, Friday, Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex.

He is survived by his beloved wife & best friend of 52 years, Janie Faison Johnson of the home, siblings, Elizabeth Allen (Olive) of Wilson, Willie Johnson, Jr. of Middlesex, brother & sister-in-law, Joe & Ann Faison of Lake Royale, nieces, Denise Faison Wolfe (Barry), Dana Faison Mayberry (Brian), great nephews, Scott Wolfe, Braxton & Tanner Mayberry, as well as several other special nephews & nieces.

Flowers welcomed, or memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

    I am so sorry, Janie. I just got home from the beach and found out about Garland. You have my deepest sympathy.

    Mrs Janie I am so very sorry for your loss. I was looking for information on our neighbors service arrangements through Strickland and saw the notice about Mr Garland. I did not hear until now. You are in my prayers.

    I worked with Garland in the photo lab. He was a great guy and easy to get along with. There can only be one Garland.
