Francine Carlson Doyle
February 8, 1938 – July 13, 2022

Garner – Francine Carlson Doyle, 84, passed away on July 13, 2022. She was the loving wife of Michael Doyle of 47 years. Fran cherished family above all else and passed away peacefully in her home with her husband, children, and rat terrier “Izzy” at her side.

Born February 8, 1938 in Queens, NY; the daughter of the late Harold and Helen Carlson. Fran was one of 7 children, 3 brothers and 3 sisters who each meant the world to her.

Fran married Michael in 1975 and they made their home in Connecticut before moving to North Carolina in 1993. Fran was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Eugene’s church in Wendell where she enjoyed weekly services as well as spending time with her friends at the Senior Center.

Throughout their lives, Fran spent countless weekends with her grandchildren as they had “sleepovers” baked cookies, played games, and watched movies together. Fran was always tending to her garden and her rose bushes were her pride and joy. Fran loved to vacation especially with her extended family. When asked what her favorite vacation was she said, “All of them”. Fran was an avid Boston Red Sox fan although it was a “House Divided” amongst her family.

Fran is survived by her husband, Michael Doyle; children Skip Richardson (Sandy), Rob Doyle, Kelli George (Brad); grandchildren April Cochran (Adam), Keith Richardson (Melanie), Zack Doyle, Skylar George and Brantley George; great grandchild, Emerson Cochran; sisters Elaine Owens (Tom), Charlotte Rivers (John), Jill Van Ness (Eric); sister-in-law Joyce Carlson; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Fran was predeceased by her brothers Roger Carlson, Bobby Carlson, and Raymond Carlson.

Fran was a loving wife, mother, grandmother “grams”, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Mass will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 608 Lions Club Rd., Wendell. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30am – 11:00am prior to the service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the SPCA or The Helene Foundation.
