April 11, 1946 – May 19, 2026

MIDDLESEX – Felix J. DeMuro, 80, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on April 11, 1946, Felix was raised in Philadelphia and graduated from South Philadelphia High School in 1964. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country in the Army National Guard.

Following his military service, Felix began a lifelong career as a commercial painter, joining the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades in Philadelphia. Known for his strong work ethic and quiet determination, he spent years mastering his craft. After a brief
period as a small business owner—operating a store specializing in seafood and prepared foods—he returned to the painting trade he loved.

Through dedication and perseverance, he rose into roles in management and estimating before ultimately founding the Felix J. DeMuro Painting Company, which he built and operated with great pride until his retirement.

More than his work, Felix’s greatest devotion was to his family. After starting a family, he moved from Philadelphia to New Jersey, where he built a life centered on his wife and children. He gave generously of his time, often volunteering with local Little League programs and quietly supporting those around him whenever he could.

In retirement, Felix and his beloved wife, Angel, moved to Florida, where he became an active and respected member of the community at Heritage Hills in Clermont. He served as
president of the homeowners association board, a role he approached with care, fairness, and pride in serving his neighbors.

In recent years, Felix moved to North Carolina to be closer to his family, where he spent his final chapter surrounded by his wife and sons. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his work ethic, his loyalty to family, and the quiet ways he showed his love.

Felix is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Angel; his sons, Christopher (Jennifer) and Brian; as well as many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Philomena DeMuro (née Giosa); his brothers, Felix, Joseph, and Ronald; and two children, Joseph and Jude.

The family is deeply grateful to the compassionate staff of the MICU and CICU at WakeMed Raleigh, as well as the staff and volunteers at Transitions Life Care Hospice Home in Raleigh, for their kindness and support during Felix’s final days.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 9:00 AM at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 608 Lions Club Rd, Wendell, NC, 27591, where family and friends will gather to pray for the
repose of his soul and give thanks for his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Transitions Life Care Hospice, or a charity of your choice in Felix’s memory.

Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. www.stricklandfuneral.com

Dearest Cousin, you’ll be sadly missed. I’ll miss your daily, silly memes you’d send that I’d shake my head and think “still goofy after all these years”! Growing up in our large family of aunts, uncles, cousins there was NEVER a dull moment at any family gathering. And, you always lit up the room with your sarcasm and wit! Wonder where I get mine from? RIP dear Felix and say hello to my mom and dad when you get there!! Love, Joey!
