Eulah Jean Henderson
September 24, 1932 – March 7, 2024

Eulah “Jean” Henderson was one of fourteen children born to a coal mining family in West Virginia.. She was cooking and watching the smaller children by the age of 6.
She married a career Army pilot in 1952 and together they shared a colorful, fast paced life with their four children. She was a military family advocate through and through.

She was loved by every child who ever met her. Neighborhood children, school children, and kids from church all looked to her for nurturing and guidance, as well as occasional Smarties candy. Many of these kids would come to her as adults to tell her how she changed their lives for the better. She was truly a giving and loving person all her life.

Jean was fond of saying she never cussed, smoked, or drank in her life, all part of her Church of God upbringing that she maintained throughout her lifetime. God gifted her with hospitality, and she truly loved preparing and serving food with her friends at Capital City Church. Her ultimate desire was that she see all her family and friends at God’s throne room in heaven.

She was spirited and happy to be with people, and quite a remarkable and cherished woman. She will be loved and missed by all who came into contact with her.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, James Walter Brown and Anna Pearl Siltner Brown, and by her husband Ralph Eddie Henderson.
She is survived by her 4 children Kent Henderson (Maureen), Karyn Henderson, Maya Kelley, Janeane Gibson (Guy); 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sisters Marcella Norman, Linda Nelson, and Brenda Hunt as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
