Ernest Almound “Brak” Braxton

December 28, 1938 – March 30, 2016

WENDELL – Ernest (Brak) Braxton, 77, passed away Wednesday morning, March 30, 2016, from complications after a brief illness.  Brak was born in Greenville, NC and lived in Wendell most of his adult life.  He worked as a long-distance truck driver for over 40 years and toured all over the U.S.  He was proud to say he drove over 3 million miles without one accident.  Brak was also an avid fan and proud supporter of the University of North Carolina (UNC) and NASCAR.  

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Virginia (Ginny) Lovelace Braxton, a brother Ray Braxton (Ramseur, NC), several nieces and nephews and finally his dog and very special friend “Chief”.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Hill and brother, David Braxton.

Flowers welcomed or Due to Brak’s love of his past and present dogs, memorials may be made to SPCA of Wake County, NC (www.spcawake.org)

Visitation, Saturday, April 2nd from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W 3rd St, Wendell, NC 27591.
