WENDELL – Eric “Ricky” Eugene Allen, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 27th, 2021. Eric is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Miranda “Randi” Allen, and his furry little girls, Roxanne & Zuri of the home, a large and loving family, and many, many friends.
Eric enlisted in the Army at 17 to be an OH-58 Kiowa Helicopter Aircraft Mechanic Repairman. He served with pride and distinction in Troop D, 1st Squadron, 9th Calvary, of the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. He was honorably discharged after completing his enlistment contract.
After serving in the Army, Eric worked for Norfolk Southern Railway, where he went on to retired after 25 years.
He had a love for classic rock, fishing, especially surf fishing, and participating in the World Championship Red Drum Tournaments at the Outer Banks. He was a proud member of the TRY-IN-TOO fishing team and a proud and true Blue Duke’s fan.
Miranda “Randi” would like to thank everyone for their support and love. She would like to extend a special thank you to Janet, Jennie, Ann, David, Alice, Charles, Valerie, Darcy, and the staff of Transitions Lifecare Hospice.
Eric, Roxanne, Zuri, and I will never forget ALL your support and loving guidance through this difficult journey.
