Emma O’Brien Pounds
August 6, 1930 – October 19, 2021

CLAYTON – Emma O’Brien Pounds, 91, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday.  She was born in Guilford County to the late Homer Dewey & Sudie McVickers O’Brien. In addition to being a devoted wife & mother, Emma worked as a supervisor at Norwich Mills.  She was fond of the outdoors & had a great appreciation for nature.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodson “Buddy” Alonzo Pounds & siblings, David O’Brien, Robert O’Brien, Johnny O’Brien,  Frances Alvanze, Gertrude O’Brien, William O’Brien, Velma Adams, Tom O’Brien, James O’Brien & Buddy O’Brien.

She is survived by her sons, Ernie Pounds of Raleigh & Tommy Pounds (Wendy)  of  Archer Lodge; granddaughter, Emily; siblings, Mike O’Brien (Mary Lou) of TN & Tootsie Gorski of Clayton.

Graveside service 11:00 am, Tuesday, Pinecrest Memorial Park, Clayton, NC.
