Emma Neal Pollard Medlin

December 3, 1937 – June 16, 2019

Mrs. Emma Neal (Pollard) Medlin, born on December 3, 1937 in Cary, North Carolina, went to her heavenly home, age 81, on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Thelbert and Emma Pollard.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Preston Pollard and JT Pollard.

She spent her career as a teller at First Citizens in Wendell until she retired in 1998.  She enjoyed many summers at White Lake and Lake Gaston.  She had a passion for reading and could often be found sitting in her recliner reading a new book.  She was a long time active member of Union Chapel Baptist Church.

Emma Neal was the beloved wife of J.D. Medlin of 62 years.  She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Barbour and Becky Medlin; grandchildren, Brittany Lilley (Scott) and Carrie Barbour (Walker); and great niece, Shelley Medlin.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life Service, Thursday, June 20th at 2:00pm at Union Chapel Baptist Church, 2437 Zebulon Rd., Zebulon, NC 27597, with a viewing prior to the service starting at 12:30pm.

Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to Union Chapel Baptist Church.

Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591.

    Mrs. Medlin was so loved by her husband, her friends and her family. Her job on earth is done and she can now rest in the arms of Jesus, and we can rest in the assurance that we WILL see her again! Prayers for comfort and peace in this assurance.
