Elizabeth (Libby) Seagroves
September 13, 1951 – December 19, 2022

On Monday, December 19, 2022, Elizabeth (Libby) Seagroves, a caring daughter, mother and grandmother departed this life. She was 71. Born to the late Paul Gettis and Joyce Whitley, Libby will be remembered as someone who would do anything for those that she loved, as well as her spitfire personality.

After a career spanning 33 years at First Citizens Bank, Libby enjoyed her retirement by spending as much time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids as she could. As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, she was known to spend Sundays on the edge of her seat watching her team play. Not only will Libby be missed by her family, but also by her dogs she adored, Rosie and Abby.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 10 years, Kenneth, and her brother Kenny Gettis, Sr.

She is survived by her father Bruce Whitley, Sr., sons Sam Morris (Shelley), Paul Morris (Tammy), and Brandon Seagroves (Mackenzie); daughter Dawn Blackley (Lee); brothers Jimmy Gettis, Billy Gettis (Paula), and Bruce Whitley, Jr. (Cheryl); seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A Public Graveside Service will take place 1:00pm, Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the Whitley Family Cemetery on Logan’s Lane in Middlesex.
