Elisabeth Stiewing Cormier
May 15, 1924 – February 23, 2017
WENDELL – Elisabeth Stiewing Cormier, known as “Mutti”, 92, died after battling Alzheimer’s Disease. Elisabeth was born in Ludwigshafen AM/Rhein, Germany on May 15, 1924 to the late Hans & Katherina Vomend Stiewing. She was preceded in death by her sons, Gerald Michael Cormier, Charles Albert Cormier, daughter, Michelle Cormier & husband Joseph Gerald Cormier, Retired United States Army., also siblings, Helena, Klausel, Hans, & Albert.
Elisabeth was a devoted Roman Catholic. Our beloved mother “Mutti” was the most loving, caring, gentle mother in the world. Her children & grandchildren always came first and she did absolutely everything for us. She always listened to our problems and prayed for us in good and bad times. Her home and heart was always open & welcoming to everyone. Her laughter and spirit of happiness drew people who met her to adore her. She was truly an angel walking among us. The Lord has taken her home where she will dwell in his house reunited with the family she loved so, that have gone before her.
She is survived by her family who mourn her memory, daughters, Joan Francisca Staab (Joachim), Yvonne Marie Hale, grandchildren, John Michael Hale, Jr., Nicholas Jordan Hale, Katie Tharrington (Monie), Tara LaCour (Kjay), Jennifer Hammond, Shane Cormier, great grandchildren, Payton & Mason Tharrington, Tyler & Jacob Brown, & daughter-in-law, Joan Hendrickson.
