Dennis Mark Hinton

Dennis Mark Hinton

Dennis M Hinton, 11-5-1962 to 9-22-2019

Dennis was a beloved Hubster and Daddy. He was full of mischievous ways and loved to make people laugh. He never knew a stranger and touched everyone he met. From the Plumbing supply houses, to Waffle House, to Church and to the many homes he went in to do service calls. He cared for his customers just about as much as he cared for his family. He was very honest and upfront with everyone he met. He had a big heart that he wore on his sleeve and he was cared for more than he ever knew.

Dennis was so proud of his daughter, Lori Beth.  Everywhere he went he bragged about her and talked non-stop about her. He was very proud of her college choices and sticking with what she knows best. He loved her fiercely but also argued with her just as much because she is just like him in almost every way.

Dennis was married to his wife, Beth, of 30 years. He almost scared her to death the day he asked her to marry him but she said yes anyway. It took a 5 page letter that he received on his birthday from Beth and a flat tire for him to realize that she was the one for him. He brought her out of her shell and taught her many things over the years. She in turn loved him unconditionally and brought out the best in him.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Beulah Hinton, niece, Candace Lichlyter (Jeff) & proceeded in death by his father Lester M Hinton and brother Randy D Hinton.

17 If anyone belongs to Christ, there is a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new! 18 All this is from God. Through Christ, God made peace between us and himself, and God gave us the work of telling everyone about the peace we can have with him. 19 God was in Christ, making peace between the world and himself. In Christ, God did not hold the world guilty of its sins. And he gave us this message of peace. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (NCV)

9 Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you everywhere you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NCV)

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Now God’s presence is with people, and he will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them and will be their God.[b] 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain, because all the old ways are gone.” Revelations 21:3-4 (NCV)

In lieu of flowers memorials or charitable contributions may be made to State Employees Credit Union for Lori Beth’s College Fund.

Celebration of Life Service will be held, Saturday, 2pm at Oasis of Love Tabernacle, 6525 Schooners Rd., Bailey, NC  27807.

On behalf of my husband David and my two young children, we send our love and thoughts of care to Dennis’s family. We moved to NC 6 years ago and Dennis was our first true southern friend. He took care of our family and our needs as his business but he took care of us as if we were family. We cherished his personality, his respectful kindness, his heartwarming and funny as hell stories, his love for his wife and daughter were so wonderful… it’s an impression He made on our hearts for 6 years and We will miss terribly. David just spoke w Dennis last week and as always gets off the phone smiling, he had an amazing personality and you had to smile with him around. We still can’t believe he is gone and have had heavy hearts since the news
Gone too soon … gone yet never forgotten and we are better people for having known him. So beyond blessed and grateful to have been a part of this life. .

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Dennis was a member at Zebulon Church when we were there. He was just as you described him, full of life and never met a stranger. We are thankful for the privilege to have known him. Our prayers are with you.

I struggle to find the words to adequately express how shocked and saddened my wife Toni and I were to learn of Dennis’ untimely passing. I saw him just last Wednesday when he was replacing a water heater at one of our properties. He said then that he wasn’t feeling well, but not much else health wise.
We always enjoyed talking with Dennis as he was a man of strong convictions, and was rarely reluctant to share them with friends. We considered Dennis a friend. And we had a working relationship for something like 18 years. He was a good man. We were privileged to know him and Beth.
    He will surely be missed.

Lori Beth-I understand how hard it is to lose your dad as I lost mine when I was 12 years old. Never forget how much he loved you and only wanted what was best for you. We just found out today about Dennis’s passing. We were talking with another plumber friend, and he told us. Dennis took care of our home for over 20 years. My husband and I would see him from time to time after church out to lunch with Beth and Lori Beth. He was so proud of Lori Beth at NC State. We loved his Christian heart and sense of humor. We are really saddened by this news, but know we will see him again in the presence of our Father. We will be praying for Beth and Lori Beth.
