ZEBULON – Danny Leroy Turnage, 69, went home to be with the Lord Thursday. He was born in Wake County to the late Mallie Houtty and Linnie Gertrude Edwards Turnage. One of Danny’s passions in life was his farm, which put food not only on his own table but the tables of many in communities both near and far. Among farming, he simply loved to relax around fishing hole and gather around the table for a good home cooked meal. These things encompassed with only one way to live life, to it’s fullest, leaving no stone left unturned.
Danny is survived by his children; Ryan Turnage (Alexis) of Youngsville, Kevin Turnage of Raleigh, Derek Arnold (Tiffany) of Zebulon, Jennifer Timmon (Bobby) of Zebulon and Thomas Turnage of Germany and ten grandchildren.
Flowers are welcomed.
Visitation will be held Sunday night, 6-7:30pm with Funeral Service, Monday, 11am. Both services will take place at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Wendell.

It saddens me to hear of the passing of Danny SGT Turnage. I went through MP school with Sgt Turnage, and was stationed in Wurzburg Germany, Leighton Barracks. Good soldier, and a heart of gold.
