CORENA DAYTON WOODARD
April 5, 1943 – April 30, 2014
WENDELL – Corena Dayton Woodard, 71, went home to Heavenly Father on Wednesday. A native of Spruce Pine, NC she was daughter to the late John Shular & Margaret Loven Dayton. Corena’s faith and family were her all in all. She was also an accomplished artist & homemaker. She was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth, Rachel, brothers, Junior, Robert, & Tony.
Funeral service will be held, 3 pm, Saturday, May 3, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Zebulon Ward, behind Sonic, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon.
She is survived by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Gene Edegl Woodard of the home, sons; Chuck Woodard (Amy) of Apex, Todd Woodard (Wendy) of Fuquay-Varina, Chad Woodard of Apex, Christian Woodard of Wendell, daughters, Debra Hocutt (Tony) of Knightdale, Cindy Alford (Billy) of Knightdale, grandchildren, Jackson, Ethan, & Haven, Woodard, and Hayden Hocutt, brothers, David Dayton (Tokuko) and Roger Dayton of Spruce Pine.
Visitation will be held 6pm – 8 pm, Friday, Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, and other times at the home.
