Cordie Cornell Ferrell, Jr.
January 16, 1948 – September 5, 2014
ZEBULON – Cordie Cornell Ferrell, Jr., 66, died Friday. A native of Wake County, he was son to the late Cordie Cornell Ferrell, Sr. & Mildred Mitchell Mauney. Cornell loved being outdoors. He loved his family and was the bond for them. He was retired from Theo Davis and Sons. He was preceded in death by a son, Chad.
He is survived by his sons; Mark Travis Ferrell (Catherine Harris) of Raeford, Stevie Allen Ferrell (Hannah) of Clayton, David Austin Ferrell of Zebulon, sister; Carolyn Young (Mike Strickland) of Zebulon, brother; Jimmy Collins (Gloria) of Tampa FL, granddaughter; McKenly Ferrell, special friend; Elizabeth Oates, nieces & nephews; Bruce Young of Zebulon, Gray Young (Vicky) of Kenly, Don Young (Karen) of Zebulon, Kenny Young (Torri) of Zebulon, Gayle Sandy (Ken) of Holly Springs; and Tina Collins Barnes of Pikerville, many great nieces and nephews.
Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Funeral service 3 pm, Monday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. Visitation from 1:30 pm – 3 pm, prior to the service and other times at Carolyn’s home. Private burial will be at a later date.
