Christi Renee Driver Sasser

July 3, 1973 – July 14, 2026

ZEBULON – Christi Renee Sasser, at the young age of 53, passed on from this life after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She has fought her fight and has now finished her course. Christi was born in Wake Co. to Charles Raeford Driver and his wife, the late Joan Baker Driver. Christi was the brilliance of life, which shone through her smile and uplifting personality. Being able to teach expressions of life through dance to youth was when she shined the most. Christi’s love for dance extended back to her childhood, leading her to becoming owner of the Joan Baker School of Dance, established by her mother back in 1966. Although dancing and music were her passion, it was only second to the immense and unmeasurable love she had for her babies, Luke, Logan, Jordan and Joanna. Her family was her life, and they meant the world to her. She often looked forward to the family trips with them to the beach, one of her favorite spots. The thought of radiant smile and her genuine love for her family, her family friends, and for dance and music will remain locked in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of sharing their life with her. Along with her mother, Christi was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Johnny Winfield Sasser, mother-in-law, Sue Joyner Sasser and her aunt, Betsy Baker Smith.

Christi leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, David Sasser; her children, Luke Sasser, Logan Sasser, Jordan Sasser and Joanna Sasser.

Funeral service will begin at 4:00PM on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Zebulon Baptist Church, located at 400 N. Arendell Ave. of Zebulon, NC.

Flowers welcome or memorial contributions can be made to the Jordan Sasser Account in c/o your local State Employees Credit Union (SECU).

A special thank you to her cherished friends, Jennifer Woody, Tammy Johnson, Cissie Gay, Tammy Noble, Stacy Marshburn and Dolly Cannon for the love, support, motivations and encouragement given to Christi throughout her life’s journey. I loved christi so much. She was a joy to be around. At least she’s at peace and I feel that heaven has a beautiful new angel that has touched so many lives just by being herself. Rest in peace sweet girl. I’ll never forget you

Christi was my cousin…not sure how many times removed but when you were from and raised in North Carolina that doesn’t matter. We left North Carolina in 1970 but always returned for visits! From the time we heard of Christi’s cancer I was in awe with her strength and resilience through it all. Rest now beautiful Christi and dance dance dance with Joan and Betsy! Until we meet again!
