Chloe Mae Pearce
September 12, 1932 – August 1, 2024

Chloe Mae Pearce was born September 12, 1932 to Gideon Russell Pearce and Mae Rue Batchelor Pearce and raised on a small farm in Franklin County. There she learned the virtues of honesty, caring and hard work which she carried through into everything.

The oldest of five children, Chloe was committed to be the best mother, sister, daughter, wife and friend possible. But Chloe was much more to many other people she met: a 2nd mother, counselor, teacher, confidant, encourager and if needed, a disciplinarian.

Chloe raised three children, mostly as a single mom, often working two jobs to provide for them. Yet she always found time to take those three to Bethlehem Baptist Church every Sunday and served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir, which was a passion of hers.

Chloe was also a prolific sender of cards for every occasion. She never missed a birthday or a kind word of sympathy and knew just when encouragement was needed. She even mailed Church bulletins to the shut-ins so they could continue feeling a part of the Church family.

Chloe Pearce was a selfless big-hearted lady that was quick with a smile and enriched the life of everyone that knew her and will be missed by many.

Chloe was preceded in death by her parents Gideon Russell and Mae Rue Pearce, brothers John Russell Pearce (Peggy) and Welton Lawrence Pearce (Sue), sister Carolyn Perry (Glen) and grandson Brian Peardon.

She is survived by sister Margaret O’Neal (Robert) of Zebulon, children Graham Baker (Donna) of Zebulon, Susan Baker of Bunn and Russell Baker of Zebulon, grandchildren, Larry Penny, Benjamin Baker, Jennifer B Pearce, Erica Lumley and Joseph Baker and many great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 5:00pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1581 Bethlehem Church Road, Youngsville, NC 27596. Visitation will take place from 3:30pm – 5:00pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Youth Program at Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Arrangements are entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 West Third Street, Wendell, NC 27591. www.stricklandfuneral.com

My condolences to Aunt Chloes family. She was definitely one of the most caring, giving and compassionate people I’ve had the pleasure to know. Yes she was a card sender. My family were recipients of many over the past 40 years.
Prayers of peace and comfort for each of you at this difficult time.

    Love, Tammy Lane

Heaven has received a true angel, a second mother, mentor, and friend to me. My own mother would tell you the same. She sat me down 33 years ago, and taught me how to manage money; how to really stretch a dollar bill, as I was about to become a single mother. She had been there and she knew how to make it happen. She always told me, that when bad things happen; you pick up the pieces and move forward. She was a warrior.
She investigated my now husband, before I dated him, because she was guarding my heart. She approved, and I’m so glad she did. It was a win. He even has a name for her; well labeled, because she was the best private investigator ever.
I feel so blessed that I was able to visit with her, less than 24 hours before she left us. I had to tell her that I love her, and to thank her, one last time.
Go hug your parents Mrs. Chloe, and fellowship with the child you lost. They need you now. I love you so much. Thanks again. I will see you again; on the other side.
