Zebulon – Catherine Edwards Simms, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday. She was born in Wake County to the late William Thomas & Mozelle Ruth Hagwood Edwards. She retired from Champion and later with Mortex from which she also retired. She was a hard worker all her life. She had a big smile and infectious laugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sherry Simms, her daughter, Sherry Guy, siblings, Ruth Taylor, Betty Ann Rochelle, Wallace Edwards, & Harold Edwards.
She is survived by her children, George Edward Simms (Delores), Patty Ann Buell (Vernon), siblings, Warren Edwards, Bobby Wayne Edwards (Esperanza), grandchildren, Carol, Chris, Jimmy, Katie, Staceye, Skye, Crystal, & William.
Graveside service 11 am, Friday, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.
Arrangments are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St, Wendell.

She will be misses as i still remember all the time going to see her growing up
