Carvin Strickland, 90, of Zebulon passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 23, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Janie R. Strickland; son, Jon E. Strickland and his wife Billie; grandson, Jonathan E. Strickland; sisters, Mildred S. Leonard and Margaret Ann S. Williams (Norwood) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was born in Nash County on November 23, 1931 to the late Berdgis Simon & Annie Strickland. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army, and worked for the NC Department of Transportation where he retired from after several decades of dedicated service. He was an active member of his community and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Alton, Herbert, his twin brother, Marvin, Bobby Lee, Odessa, Leigh, Pauline, & Crama.
A memorial service will be held 3 pm, Tuesday, August 30 at Zebulon Baptist Church. Visitation will be 2 – 2:45 pm, prior to the service. Graveside service will follow at Rocky Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. A reception to celebrate his life will be 5:30 – 7:30 pm at the family home.
