In Loving Memory of Carter B. Himes
January 22, 2020 – August 17, 2025
With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of our beloved Carter Bentley Himes, who left us too soon on August 17, 2025, at the tender age of 5. Carter was a radiant joy, his laughter and curious spirit brightening every moment.
Born on January 22, 2020, Carter’s sparkling eyes and warm hugs filled our lives with love. His boundless wonder and sweet nature touched all who knew him. Tragically, Carter was taken from us in a pool-related accident, leaving an irreplaceable void.
Carter is survived by his loving mother, Autumn, his devoted dad (stepfather), Tom, his big brother, Derrek, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.
His memory will live on in the love and joy he shared so freely.
A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends.
Carter’s light will forever shine in our hearts.
Rest in peace, our little Rooster.

I have spent a good amount of time speaking with Carter’s parents. In that time, whenever Carter happened to come around, they never failed to let him know he was loved. Whenever we happened to speak about Carter, it was clear that he was deeply loved and cared for. I have no doubt that in such an environment, Carter was well on his way to becoming an outstanding gentleman. He was taken too soon. Rest in peace, Carter. To his parents, I know you’ll never forget him, but I hope that someday you’ll find peace.
