Carolyn Faulkner Chasteen, 87, of Wendell, NC went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
Carolyn is survived by two children from Wendell – her daughter, Teresa P. Marshburn (Kirby) and son, James L. Poole, Jr.; four grandchildren Stacey A. Hinnant, Courtney M. Fowler (Mark), Hayden C. Marshburn and Daniel C Glover (Felicia); five great-grandchildren Kendall and Ava Fowler; Skylar, Avery and Paisley Glover.
She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Deborah P. Glover; husband, Bill Chasteen; and parents Vivian K. Branch and Edward S. Faulkner.
Carolyn was born on August 28, 1937, in Raleigh, NC. She grew up in Raleigh, NC before moving to Wendell, NC. Carolyn was a hard worker and always moving! She first retired from Atlantic States Credit and due to her strong work ethic, enjoyed being a faithful Walmart employee for 20 years before her second retirement. Carolyn’s family delights in remembering her as an avid Windex-er, taking immaculate care of her home and yard, and ensuring her family’s needs were met – including caring for her Uncle Joe in his later years. Her spunk and tenacity will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service to celebrate her life on Monday, September 16th, 2024, at 12pm at Montlawn Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Cremations, 2911 S. Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC. Arrangements are entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell NC 27591.
