Carmel Coy Driver
October 22, 1925 – May 1, 2017
MIDDLESEX – Carmel Coy Driver, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, with his family surrounding him. He was born in Johnston County to the late Carmel Haywood & Mattie Wilder Driver. He served his country during the Korean War in the U. S. Army. He retired from the State of North Carolina, General Services. Coy was a strong man of faith and loved his wife with all his heart. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by all his siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Boyette Driver of the home, sons, Michael Driver (Ann) of Zebulon, Eddie Driver (Angie) of Middlesex, grandchildren, Beth Driver, Christopher Driver, Amber Danchak (Tim), Erica Driver, & Sviatlana Turchanka.
Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to Watkins Chapel Baptist Church or SECU Hospice House, Smithfield, NC.
Funeral service 3 pm, Thursday, Watkins Chapel Baptist Church with visitation from 1:30 – 3 pm, prior to the service. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Driver, Mike, Eddie & family ~ I was deeply saddened to hear about Mr. Driver. He touched many lives in his 91 years and the Emit Community and Watkins Chapel Baptist Church have truly been blessed by his love and devotion as have his family and friends. Thoughts and prayers are with you!
Mr. Coy will be greatly missed. He was a God fearing man and loved by all. Sending our prayers and love to the family and extended family.
