Carlton Lee Bailey Sr.

June 6, 1945 – May 23, 2024

WENDELL – Carlton Lee Bailey, 78, passed away surrounded and embraced by the love of his family. He was born in Wake Co. Pressley Israel Bailey and Esther Hawkins Jones. He worked at Westinghouse and later retired from the US Postal Service after many years of employment. Carlton loved cars, motorcycles and horses. Basically, if he could ride it, he liked it. The years he spent here seemed short but the impact he made was nothing short of incredible. His memory will be cherished by his family, and those he called friends. He was preceded in death by James Burton and Ann Horton.

Funeral Service will be at Baptist Tabernacle Church, 1599 NC Hwy 231, Wendell, NC on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens cemetery.

He is survived by the love of his world and wife of nearly 59 years, Dorothy Bailey; his sons, Lee (Leslie) and Matt (Candace); his Daughter, Kristel (James); his grandchildren, Kelli, Brian, Rebekah, Daniel, Matt, Stephen, Maggie, Olivia, Isiah, Robbie (Amanda) and Seth; his siblings, Joyce Hundley, (Reverend Jerry), Donald Wayne Bailey, Roy Earl Bailey (Linda) and Benjamin Bailey (Betsy). He was also survived by his buddy and mans best friend, Bandit.

Flowers are welcomed.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Monday, May 27, 2024 at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Wendell NC.

Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell.

    I’m gonna miss you brother in law.
    I knew you all my life and could not have asked for a cooler one than you.
    You were an amazing hubby to my oldest sissy and àn awesome daddy in law to my daddy.
    It’s hard to believe.
    When ever i say Dot… Carlton is the next name.
    I love you.

    Thinking of you at this time , sending our love and prayers . Carlton was a very special and good man . We know he will be greatly missed . Uncle Macon and Aunt Nellie.
