Carl Wayne Hare

Carl Wayne Hare, 71, of Wendell, North Carolina, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 5, 2024, surrounded by his family after a severe stroke. Wayne was born April 23, 1952 to the late Roy Belton Hare and Mamie Stallings Hare in Johnston County, North Carolina. Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Roy, mother, Mamie, and brother, Roy Curtis Hare.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Crystal of 52 years, son, Brian Landon Hare (Amanda), daughter, Cristen Hare Scarboro (Trae), grandchildren, Ashleigh Brooke Hare and Walker Bailey Scarboro, brother, Bobby Hare (Marie), sisters, Barbara Gurley (Roy), Helen Gurley (Raeford), Linda Stevens (Tim), Lois Stephenson, Judy Hocutt, and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne made a career as an Inside Trim Carpenter. Wayne’s favorite passion was serving the Lord, our Savior. He taught all ages through out the years in Sunday School. If the church doors were open, Wayne was there. Wayne loved to tell others about Jesus and was a faithful witness for God. Wayne was a faithful member of Hephzibah Baptist Church, Wendell, NC.

Visitation will take place at Hephzibah Baptist Church in the church mission center from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on February 8, 2024. Celebration of Life will follow in the Family Life Center at 2:00pm. Entombment will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon, immediately following the service.

    Wayne was a great Sunday school teacher, mentor and friend. We love you and your family and I have to wonder what all amazing things you seeing and who are you meeting in heaven.

    Wayne was a such fun to be around and I really enjoyed listening to his wisdom!! He loved the Lord and he will surely be missed!!

    Crystal, Landon & Cristin, my heart is so sad for you on the passing of Wayne. You will find some comfort in knowing exactly where he is. You have a precious family. May you feel the Holy Spirit’s presence in the coming days.

    Crystal, Today is February 19th & I just found out today about Wayne. Tim Stevens is my forger Preacher (LE Godwin) nephew. Ms. Judy Godwin & I talked today & she told me about his passing. She knew we had gone to Baptist Temple at one time & thought we might know ya?ll. I am so sorry for your loss…..Wayne was a. fine Christian man. I know we have not crossed paths in a long time, but we have never forgotten you all. Prayers for you & your children & grandchildren. Hugs.
