Carl Coleman Strickland

October 4, 1930 – October 14, 2021

WENDELL – Carl Coleman Strickland, formerly of Kenly went home to his Heavenly reward on Thursday.  He was born in Johnston County to the late Carl & Luna Boyette Strickland.  He was a carpenter whose hands were masterful.  He was a good man with a giving heart and an unmistakable presence.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Doris Strickland, brothers, Howard Bennett Strickland, & James Raynor Strickland.

He is survived by his beloved wife and friend, Barbara Nell Boykin Strickland, daughters, Lynn Strickland of Zebulon, Vickie Hatcher (Tim) of Bunn, Carla Puckett (Michael) of Fancy Gap, VA, siblings, Grady Strickland (Faye) of Raleigh, Marie Strickland Boykin (Warren) of Zebulon, grandchildren, Nella Johnson, Danielle Hatcher Alford (Jonathan), Heidi Hatcher Belisle (Rob), Cole Oakey, Daryl Lyn Basinger (Grey), 6 great grandchildren & 9 step great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Primitive Baptist Church c/o Elder Tony Parker

Funeral service 3 pm, Sunday, Salem Primitive Baptist Church, Wendell, NC with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will follow the service.

    My condolences to Barbara Nell and her family and friends. Coleman was a super nice man whom I greatly respected and loved him and his wife of 71 years like my own family.
