Bryan Dale Robinson
May 5, 1961 – October 13, 2026

ZEBULON – Bryan Dale Robinson, 65, passed into Heaven early this morning. Bryan was born in Halifax County, NC, to the late Glenn Kessler Robinson and Grace Banner Robinson. Bryan served his country as a Ranger in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he became Chief Building Official for the City of Raleigh and was recently retired. He was a loving provider and protector of his family and a loyal friend: selfless, humorous, fun-loving, generous, and kindhearted. His rise from poverty to become a college graduate, build a successful career, and raise a loving family is a testament to his strong character and unyielding perseverance. No matter the circumstances, Bryan never gave up. He found strength and hope in his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, fishing, and cheering on the Wolfpack. He lived with integrity and purpose and set an example for us all. He will be missed beyond measure.

Bryan is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Karen Robinson; his children, Chris Robinson and Josi Robinson; his siblings, Glenn Robinson, Steve Robinson, Rick Robinson, Lane Robinson and a host of nieces, one nephew, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Veterans Residential Services of Wilson, NC.

Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. www.stricklandfuneral.com

    Dear Robinson Family,
I met Bryan 11 years ago in a building code class at Wake Tech, and I came to Raleigh to work alongside him soon after. Over the years, I have come to consider him a friend, a mentor, and a role model. Bryan always clothed himself with kindness and set an example for everyone around him to follow. His character, generosity, and the way he treated others left a lasting impression on me, and I will always be grateful to have known him. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

It is with deep regret and sorrow that I learn of this news even though I only knew Bryan for a short time, I always enjoyed his company. He was the one that brought me to the City of Raleigh and it was my pleasure to come because I believe he and I had a great relationship. And as for his family, although I only knew Chris and met Chris personally he spoke highly of everyone else and he loved his family very much for the rest of you and for Chris please accept my condolences on your loss. Just know how much he loved all of you in your Own Special way. God bless in Godspeed. Keep you all safe.

    To the Robinson Family
I am deeply saddened by Bryan’s passing. His love for Christ shone brightly through his character and the way he treated others.
Throughout my career with the City of Raleigh, I had the pleasure of seeing and speaking with Bryan on many occasions. Each time, he was the same—always smiling, respectful, and courteous. On many occasions when he was needed to assist clients with building code inquiries, those clients would compliment him on how helpful and kind he was.
I am grateful that I had the opportunity to speak with Bryan when he returned to work, I never imagined it would be my last time.
Bryan’s presence and the kindness he showed to others will be sorely missed.
My sincere thoughts and prayers are with you all

    Dear Robinson Family,
I am so very sorry for the loss of Bryan. Although I only knew him for a short time, I knew he was such a special person. In my brief interactions with him at work he had a gentle, comforting demeanor and was always friendly as we crossed paths. I know that he was kind and generous by the way he carried himself and the big smile he had when he came to work. May God grant your family the strength you need as you grieve this terrible loss and may Bryan rest in peace.
