Brandon James Japhet
September 21, 1997 – March 24, 2016
Brandon James Japhet , 18, of Wendell passed away unexpectedly on Thursday March 24, 2016. He was born in Scranton, PA in 1997 and was a graduate of East Wake School of IT.
Brandon was a kind and generous individual who was loved and admired by both friends and family. He was a great uncle to his niece and nephew as well as a fantastic older and younger brother. Brandon was an old soul who lived life on his own terms rarely needing approval from others. His quirky and independent spirit drew people to him. He was a much beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and cousin. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edwin Japhet and maternal grandfather Charles Franklin.
He is survived by his parents, James Edwin Japhet of Wendell, Jennifer Franklin Hernandez (Efrain) of Apex, step mother Debra Walters of Wendell, sisters, Ashely Japhet Weymouth (Jon) of Holly Springs, Julianna Hernandez of Apex, brother, Jordan Hernandez of Apex, paternal grandmother, Darlene “Mia” Japhet, maternal grandmother, Judy Blanding, maternal step grandmother, Rita Smith Franklin, niece and nephew, Abigail and Liam Weymouth, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the East Wake High School Band.
A celebration of Brandon’s life will be 4pm, Monday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel 211 W. Third St., Wendell with visitation from 2:30 – 4:00pm, prior to the service.
