Blake Smith Boyette
October 3, 2000 -November 17, 2022

ZEBULON – Blake Smith Boyette, 22, died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 17, 2022.  Though he left us way too soon, we find comfort knowing he is in the arms of Jesus.  Blake was a senior at East Carolina University completing his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Blake loved with all of his heart and never failed to show that love to his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face, a hug in his arms, and the ability to make people laugh.  The energy and light that he brought into the world was unmatched.  Blake lived life to the fullest and everything he did, he did all the way.  He was an athlete and a fierce competitor, who enjoyed playing sports and video games. Most recently he played intramural sports at ECU, and played softball and golf with his dad and brothers. He was the king of tailgating at ECU football games and enjoyed cooking and organizing a good time for his friends. Blake loved being outdoors. He enjoyed skim-boarding at the beach, hunting, fishing and riding his four wheeler with the music blasting.  Blake lived more in 22 years than most live in a lifetime.

Blake was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Royce & Eunice Boyette.

Blake is survived by his parents, Robert Allen & Wanda Creech Boyette, his brothers, Austin Boyette (Kayley), Kyle Boyette, maternal grandparents, Grady & Linda Creech, nephew Grady Boyette, many special aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his beloved dogs, Scout & Nash.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC, 27591  919-365-3612.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Wakefield Central Baptist Church, 308 Proctor St. Zebulon, NC 27597 with burial to follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wakefield Central Baptist Church Men’s Softball fund at Wakefield Central Baptist Church, 308 Proctor St. Zebulon, NC 27597 or at https://www.wakefieldcentralbaptist.org/giving/

It’s hard to find the adequate words of sympathy we feel for the Boyette family, and the many close friends and lives Blake touched with the quality time he was with us. The Zebulon community is as tight as any community as I’ve ever had the privileged to get to know and together you all will give all the love and support to each other to get through this sad time. Blake, you will be missed but not forgotten Pirate shipmate. Fair winds and following seas.
