BillyJoe Gleason, 50, passed peacefully in his home on Monday, November 21st, 2022.
Billy led a fulfilling and joyous life as a dedicated husband, caring father, and devoted friend. Billy’s life is characterized by humility, a genuine love for others, and true loyalty. A free spirit, Billy lived with an intense vibrance for life and adventure. He thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones in the mountains of North Carolina. He cultivated lasting friendships with the members of his motorcycle club, The Enforcers. Nicknamed ‘Suspect,’ Billy loved to ride his motorcycle with his brothers and their loved ones, with whom his spirit will live on.
Billy was committed to service to others, and he cared for everyone. Billy served his community as a firefighter for many years. He was always willing to answer the call to those in need. His devotion and selfless nature were central to his being and could be seen in all of his deeds, work, and the way he lived his life.
Billy exuded a brilliant passion for life. All who knew him carry vivid memories of his deeply impactful presence. His legacy and memory are that of a life well lived, one that was filled with love and joy.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, partner, and best friend of 26 years, Danielle; their three children: Bailie, Trever, and Bradley, each of whom he loved fiercely; his siblings Carlton, Bernice, and Dexter; his parents, Carlton and Sharyn; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in his name to The American Cancer Society.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30pm on the 26th of November, 2022, Saturday, at Strickland Funeral Home located at 211 W. Third Street, Wendell, NC.

I would like to send my condolences to Danielle and the whole family for the loss of one great guy. Billy Gleason was about the easiest going guy that I have ever known….It was a total pleasure to know him. Rest in peace Billy, we will all see you again at some point in time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Billy at Eastern Wake fire dept years ago and he was a great guy. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
